My Amazing life,

  despite chronic pain

 By Leslie Funk

My personal blog about my life, with the ups   and downs that come with multiple chronic pain and chronic illness diagnoses.

about me:

I am married to the love of my life and we have two sons. Currently I am writing a non-fiction book on Chronic Pain. The book is to help other people who have chronic pain and chronic illness decrease their pain and improve their quality of life.

Personally, I have multiple chronic pain and chronic illness diagnoses; Interstitial Cystitis, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pelvic Pain Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, General Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder and Excoriation Disorder (formerly called Dermatillomania). In the past I have had Endometriosis that caused severe Pelvic Pain for many years of my life, resulting in surgeries.

I am blessed to have had an incredible doctor-surgeon who has been a healer for me. Most recently she sent me to the only program in the country that teaches chronic pain patients to retrain their brains by creating new neural pathways and reducing old paths. Based on the most current research in the world and building on the brain’s plasticity; the Pain Management Rehabilitation Program (PMRP) in Silicon Valley has changed my life and taught me so many new skills to decrease my pain.
